The Wetland Conservation Society is involved in several ongoing campaigns for wetland conservation. They include:
- updating the Wetlands Conservation Policy for WA
- completion and implementation of the Wetland Buffer Guidelines
- advocacy and preparation of nominations for further Ramsar wetland nominations
- public education about the value of wetlands
- groundwater protection on the Swan Coastal Plain
- protection and expansion of the Beeliar Regional Park
- proposals for new regional parks
- revegetation of the former Roe Highway reserve
- protection of the Burswood wetlands from the proposed Burswood Motor Racing Circuit development. The e-petition to the State Government can be found here.
- The purchase, protection and future management of Eungedup Wetlands by the Wilson Inlet Catchment Committee (WICC). These properties have now been purchased and are being managed for wetland habitat protection and wildlife. For more information go to wicc.org.au/eungedup-wetlands.html
